From this information we were able to arrive at a few ideas. First, the Houston Astros almost completely have identical lineups! Yes, the Astros. To a certain degree, they must believe in sabermetrics aiding the creation of a lineup. Also, again it seems all five teams find their top all- around hitter as the leadoff in the optimized lineup. However, unlike some of our previous optimized lineups, it would not be out of the question to see the likes of Trout, Zobrist, Choo and Altuve bat leadoff, as they have already done so in past seasons or do so currently. From what we’ve seen thus far, this division might very well contain the most realistic lineups (the optimized ones) to be used in actual gameplay. Give them a try AL West managers!

Coming up next we peek at the lineups for the American League Central Division.
